What Makes Driving for Sewell Different?
At Sewell, we realize that in today’s market, the demand for good drivers is intense. We also know that those driver’s want much more than great pay; they want good benefits, good communications and a feeling that they matter. The Sewell team strives hard to provide that and more. We work hard to keep work satisfaction high by balancing home time and work. We make sure our drivers are comfortable when they are out on the road. We also make sure they are well trained and safe while “on the job”. We stand behind our drivers, mile after mile.
Get Out and Back Home Sooner
Unlike many other companies who keep OTR drivers moving across the country, our “out and back” business model provides for 500 to 600-mile outbound trips, with most returning to our terminal in Wilmington where local drivers complete final delivery of the load This reduces delays and keeps our drivers moving during the week. It also allows many drivers to be back home 1 or 2 times a week.
Sewell prides itself on listening to its drivers, and because that, offers a flexible mileage program designed to allow you to choose if you want to run above or below 3,000 miles. The program’s focus is on providing you with a consistent income, based on the way you want to drive and earn a living. We pride ourselves that this and other innovations help to out-perform other companies in terms of retention, many of whom are much larger. We believe that is the case because at Sewell, we’re big enough to be consistent and grow but small enough to care.
Steady freight – Get to know our Customers
At Sewell, we have a stable and long-standing base of clients (many of whom are national in scope) that provide us as much work as we want. We are expanding by way of organic growth rather than acquisition, and we don’t have drivers sitting waiting for the business to come. We are known for providing impeccable service and the highest levels of customer satisfaction in the industry. All of our drivers benefit from consistent and familiar routes from an assigned dispatcher that knows you by name.
Continual Training & Mentoring
Whether you’re a new driver fresh out of school or a seasoned driver, we invest in our people and in their success. In fact, at Sewell we not only talk it, we walk it; without your personal success, we are Sewell cannot be successful You’re a part of the team at Sewell Motor Express; we’ll work with you side by side to give you the tools and opportunities to reach your career goals.
Our Most Valuable Asset Is Our People
Lots of companies say this, but few can say with certainty that it’s their primary focus. As a 3rd generation family owned company, now nearly 100 years old, Sewell has a rich history in Wilmington, Ohio. That 100-year milestone is soon to be reached because the owner and management of Sewell realizes that it’s not trucks that make us great; it’s our people. That team continually strives to create an environment where all employees, but especially drivers, feel not only are they part of the team, they are part of the Sewell family.
